Live At 2PM EST Another Actor Lost To Drugs Corey Haim 38 Is Dead. Addiction Kills And It Doesn't Discriminate.

Addiction Recovery Talk - Actor Corey Haim, 38, is dead after an accidental drug overdose. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner confirmed that Haim, who battled substance addiction for several years, was found unresponsive in an Oakwood apartment and pronounced dead at Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center at 2:15 a.m. this morning. His mother, according to FOX station KTLA, was in the apartment at the time.

Another Actor Lost to Drugs Actor Corey Haim died this morning of an apparent drug overdose. Many who grew up during the 80’s remember him well from numerous roles in films then, and he was recently reunited on the small screen with actor and friend Corey Feldman in “The Two Coreys.” Haim had a troubled past with substance abuse and all that comes with it – sliding career, financial difficulties and trouble with the law. He is the latest casualty in a string of celebrity deaths that have been linked to drugs in one way or another. Yet with all the glorification of alcohol and drug abuse portrayed in Hollywood, especially on MTV and VH1 reality shows, maybe common sense might prevail and not continue to show so much partying since these channels influence our nation’s teenagers to a great degree. Even Joey from MTV’s “The Real World Hollywood” wound up spinning his substance abuse from a violent tirade into a paid gig on “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew”, where he was depicted as making a joke of his drug use before entering treatment yet again. I think it’s about time that some shows shed light on the reality of substance abuse without the glamorization of partying. Obviously not everyone winds up dead like Corey Haim when they become addicted to drugs, but most will end up in prison or die if they do not seek effective help. The Sound Pillow®…A holistic approach to relax the Mind,Body, and Spirit

Many folks in early addiction recovery suffer from stress, anxiety, and fear causing long, sleepless nights.

Sound Pillow helps sufferers through these periods of unease and restlessness to reach a state of relaxation and achieve the rejuvenating effects of a good night’s sleep. This personal audio device provides recovering addicts the ability to get a comfortable night’s sleep by providing a calming, soothing distraction from disturbing thoughts and silences “The Voices” in the head. Sound Pillow allows the mind to shut down, the body to relax, and the spirit to heal.

Sound Pillow Meditation can be a powerful tool in relapse prevention, becoming what one therapist called "a positive addiction providing a healthy alternative to addictive behaviors."

People in long-term recovery report that meditation provides new insights about the source of their cravings, resentments, and fears. Let Sound Pillow become a daily recovery tool regardless if you're a newcomer or in long-term recovery.
