STEP THREE

STEP THREE « Holistic Lifestyles Radio

STEP THREE

by Holistic Lifestyles Radio on Aug.25, 2010, under Home

HOW DO WE TURN OUR WILL AND LIVES OVER TO THE “CARE” OF GOD?

“I was to sit quietly when in doubt, asking only for – direction and strength - to FACE and MEET my problems as He would have me do. Never – was I to pray for myself – except as my requests bore on my – usefulness to others. Then only might I expect to receive. But that would be – in great measure.” (A.A. Page 13)

THIRD STEP PRAYER

“God, I offer myself to thee, to make with me, and to do with me, what you will.”

Does this mean that we should – get out of the “driver’s seat”- and ask God become our – chauffeur?

Does this mean that God is a puppet master, and we should ask Him to make us one of His – puppets?

Does this mean we surrender our responsibility – for using the brains God gave us – to make decisions?

WHAT WAS BILL WILSON’S VIEW ON STEP THREE?

Human beings are supposed to – think and act. We weren’t made in God’s image to be – robots. My own formula along this line runs as follows:

First: I THINK through every situation – pro and con, praying meanwhile that I not be influenced by ego

considerations. I affirm – that I would like to do God’s will.

Second: Having tried to solve the problem by – using the brain God gave me to use - and getting no conclusive or

compelling answer, I WAIT for further guidance. This guidance may come from:

  1. An intuitive thought or idea
  2. Other people
  3. Circumstances

Third: If I feel I can’t wait, and still get no definite indication, I repeat the first measure – several times, and then

CHOOSE what I believe to be the best alternative. Then, I ACT. If I discover that I am moving in the wrong

direction, I make a U TURN, and try to – learn the lesson – from the experience. (As Bill Sees It – Page 55)

“We cannot wholly rely on friends to solve all our difficulties. A good sponsor or advisor will NEVER do all our thinking for us. They know that – each final choice – must be ours. What they can do is help us eliminate – fear, expediency, and self-deception. They can ‘enable’ us – to make choices – which are loving, wise, and honest.”

(As Bill Sees It – Page 83)

As a group, the original members of A.A. described themselves in this way:

“We were DRIVEN by a hundred forms of fear, self-delusion, self-seeking and self pity.” (A.A. Page 62)

“Alcoholics are EXTREME examples of –self-will run riot – though they usually don’t think so.” (A.A. Page 62)

When we arrive at A.A. or N.A. we’re told that we have to get OUT of the “driver’s” seat. This is a MYTH because while active in our addiction we are – extreme – examples of self-will run riot; we’re DRIVEN by obsessive thoughts, compulsive feelings, and physical craving. We were NEVER “in” the driver’s seat.

I AM RESPONSIBLE means – I am willing to – get IN the driver’s seat.

I am willing to – accept RESPONSIBILITY for my life.

I then ask or pray for – guidance and direction – from God, my sponsor, or friends in recovery.

Then – I ACT.

Namaste, (The light in me “honors” the light in you.)

Drug Rehab Centers Reduce Stress Through Sound

Tinnitus/Sound Pillow « Holistic Lifestyles Radio

Sound Pillow -Drug Rehab Centers Reduce Stress Through Sound.

Sound Pillow represents another way in which the philosophy of holistic healing is used to support the physical, mental and spiritual growth for addicts. Healing Sound Pillow uses a pillow to reproduce sound from any listening device to help addicts to reduce stress and create a sense of balance within and around them. Traditional spiritual and healing practices have recognized the power of sound for thousands of years. Chants, church bells, drumbeats and sung or spoken rituals have been used to alter moods, create different energy states and to facilitate communication with spiritual powers throughout history.

All these practitioners have intuitively understood that sound represents energy, energy which can be transmitted and used by humans to reach higher levels of health and consciousness. Practitioners of this ancient ritual enjoy a more complete relaxation and deeper focus during meditation, resulting in greater levels of stress release.

The Sound Pillow offers a rewarding alternative therapy that can be integrated into a client’s lifelong meditative practice to reduce the stresses of life that addicts all look to escape. The Sound Pillow put one on every client’s bed and the new comers will have help dealing with those sleepless nights. The new comer complaint list is as followed: I Can’t Sleep have Anxiety I mind always races I can’t focus I feel stressed I can’t concentrate Fear keeps me up Not knowing my future is making me angry This with many more very confusing conversations are going on in the newly recovered addicts head. Help The Band Stop playing introduce the Sound Pillow to your Addiction Treatment like the other treatment centers around the country.

•No Expensive Hardware
•No Pre-programming
•No Expensive Programs
•No Counselors needed
•No Certification Required to reduce the stress helps clean up the mess.

Live At 2PM EST Another Actor Lost To Drugs Corey Haim 38 Is Dead. Addiction Kills And It Doesn't Discriminate.

Addiction Recovery Talk - Actor Corey Haim, 38, is dead after an accidental drug overdose. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner confirmed that Haim, who battled substance addiction for several years, was found unresponsive in an Oakwood apartment and pronounced dead at Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center at 2:15 a.m. this morning. His mother, according to FOX station KTLA, was in the apartment at the time.

Another Actor Lost to Drugs Actor Corey Haim died this morning of an apparent drug overdose. Many who grew up during the 80’s remember him well from numerous roles in films then, and he was recently reunited on the small screen with actor and friend Corey Feldman in “The Two Coreys.” Haim had a troubled past with substance abuse and all that comes with it – sliding career, financial difficulties and trouble with the law. He is the latest casualty in a string of celebrity deaths that have been linked to drugs in one way or another. Yet with all the glorification of alcohol and drug abuse portrayed in Hollywood, especially on MTV and VH1 reality shows, maybe common sense might prevail and not continue to show so much partying since these channels influence our nation’s teenagers to a great degree. Even Joey from MTV’s “The Real World Hollywood” wound up spinning his substance abuse from a violent tirade into a paid gig on “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew”, where he was depicted as making a joke of his drug use before entering treatment yet again. I think it’s about time that some shows shed light on the reality of substance abuse without the glamorization of partying. Obviously not everyone winds up dead like Corey Haim when they become addicted to drugs, but most will end up in prison or die if they do not seek effective help. Three Reasons Why Creating Stress Free Holidays Can Make You Happy

It is incredibly sad that American holidays are turning into huge festive stress-fests! Once upon a time holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas were enjoyed by everyone because they were not full of the stress they are full of today. Sure, the same events happened each year that still happen now. Turkey was served at a big family gathering for Thanksgiving. Gifts were exchanged with family and friends for the Christmas holiday. However, they were done on a much smaller scale. Today everyone rushes around trying to prepare an enormous meal for Thanksgiving and trying to spend their last penny on Christmas gifts. It can be difficult to get through the holidays without loads of stress. However, if you can find a way to create stress free holidays, you will find that you can be happier during the holiday season. Take a look at these three reasons why creating stress free holidays can make you happy. No Pressure Starting from the bottom, the number three reason why you should create a stress free holiday plan is because when you do so, there will be no pressure. No pressure to max out your credit cards on gifts for others, no pressure to serve the perfect dinner to everyone you know, and no pressure to volunteer for every single holiday activity taking place. Getting through the holidays with no pressure may seem impossible, but its not. When you are honest with everyone around you and honest with yourself, you will know that it can be done. Put price limits on gift giving. Make a deal with yourself that you won't commit to more than one or two activities a week. Doing these little things can create stress free holidays for you and your family! Enjoying The Little Things. The number two reason you should create a stress free holiday plan is so you can enjoy the little things. Watching the fresh snow fall on the ground, taking a stroll to see the neighborhood holiday lights, savoring the taste of your grandmother's mashed potatoes, or whatever you like to do can be priceless. Unfortunately most people are so busy with other things that they don't take the time to enjoy the smaller holiday blessings. So, be sure that your holiday plan gives you enough time and room to be relaxed and enjoy everything going on.
Love & light,

The Sound Pillow Therapy

The Sound Pillow Therapy
The Sound Pillow Therapy represents another way in which the philosophy of holistic healing is used to support the physical, mental and spiritual growth for addicts. Healing Sound Pillow Therapy uses a pillow to reproduce sound from any listening device to help addicts to reduce stress and create a sense of balance within and around them. The Sound Pillow offers a rewarding alternative therapy that can be integrated into a client's lifelong meditative practice to reduce the stresses of life that addicts all look to escape.

The Sound Pillow put one on every client’s bed and the new comers will have help dealing with those sleepless nights. The new comer complaint list is as followed:

I Can’t Sleep

I have Anxiety

I mind always races

I can’t focus

I feel stressed

I can’t concentrate

Fear keeps me up

Not knowing my future is making me angry

This with many more very confusing conversations are going on in the newly recovered addicts head. Help The Band Stop playing
