Erin Hamilton has a new single being released on Saturday, July 3rd called "Strength"

Tonight at 10pm ET & 7PM PT on "Rockers In Recovery" we will be interviewing Erin Hamilton. Ten years ago, a cover version of Gary Wright's "Dreamweaver" introduced Erin Hamilton to the dance world. The daughter of comedienne Carol Burnett enjoyed a string of club hits including "The Flame," "Satisfied," and "The Temple" which all appeared on her CD "One World." After personal struggles with substance abuse and relationships led to an extended break from the music industry. With five years of sobriety and a new family, Erin is back again – having achieved back-to-back number one hits on the club chart "The Flame 08" and "Control Yourself."

Erin Hamilton (born 14 August 1968[1]) is an American electronic dance music singer. The daughter of actress Carol Burnett and TV Producer Joe Hamilton, she has scored several hits on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart. She is the youngest of eleven siblings.[2]

Prior to a dance music career, Hamilton was a member of several jazz and blues-inflenced bands (As Is, Komba Kalla) and played at the House of Blues.[1][2] Her first solo single was a cover version of Gary Wright's 1975 hit "Dream Weaver", released in 1998. Her debut album, One World, was released the following year.[3] The album also included a cover of Cheap Trick's hit "The Flame". To promote the album she opened for artists such as Bette Midler and Whitney Houston.[4]

In 2008, her cover of "The Flame" was remixed and re-released (as "The Flame 08") and this version hit number one on the U.S. dance chart in April.

If you got a hankering to listen to some good old kick-ass blues/rock mixed with a dash of classic rock "Left For Dead" CD By Dudley Taft

On "Rockers In Recovery" tonight June 30Th at 10PM ET & 7PM PT live from WWNN 1470AM and streaming live around the world on www.wwnnradio.com. We will be interviewing Dudley Taft who grew up in a country called the "Midwest", where he learned the values of friendship, roots blues, rock 'n' roll and a good ear of corn.

Local guitar hero Rob Swaynie in Indianapolis taught Dudley the value of music theory interspersed with B.B King, Led Zeppelin and ZZ Top riffs. Taking his newfound skills with him, he founded the band “Space Antelope” with friend Trey Anastasio (of Phish Fame) in high school. Dudley moved to Seattle in the summer of 1990, joining the Seattle band “Sweet Water”. After touring the states with “Monster Magnet”, “Candlebox” and “Alice in Chains”, and recording two albums for Atlantic he left the band to resurrect “Second Coming”.

More touring followed with an album on Capitol records and a taste of success thanks to the single “Vintage Eyes” which made it to #10 on the Rock Radio charts. Older and wiser, Dudley has now turned his attention back to the roots of the music that inspired him to pick up the guitar. Dudley is also member of the KZOK band Spike and the Impalers.

FROM THE BLUES UNDERGROUND NETWORK:

If you got a hankering to listen to some good old kick-ass blues/rock mixed with a dash of classic rock, then please step right up and grab yourselves Dudley Taft's Debut Release "Left For Dead".

"Left For Dead" is a non-stop feast for the ears in the timeless tradition of old ZZ Top and Stevie Ray Vaughan, which is sure to be recognized as one of 2010's best albums in this style.

Consisting of 12 great tracks, 7 originals and 5 covers, Dudley Taft has no problem showing his virtuosity as not only one amazing axe man, but also his superb talent as a song writer.

I really enjoy listening to a great debut album and "Left For Dead" is simply one of those Albums.

Review by John Vermilyea (Blues Underground Network)

WASHINGTON BLUES SOCIETY BLUESLETTER:

Big, fat and loud are descriptives that got slapped around on the début album of Seattle’s rock and blues singer/songwriter Dudley Taft; pretty, soft and conservatively wired listeners need not apply.

“Left For Dead” is stacked with the Texan overtones of ZZ Top and SRV yet with an untypical innovative style and approach that gives this album the meat and potatoes to get a listener on the sonic train tracks and dancing till they pull into the station.

There is no question that Taft, his band and this album have passed through the deep mojo fires of the Seattle music culture infecting a blend of blues standards like Willy Dixon’s “Back Door Man” and “Seventh Son” and Taft’s original work like the album’s title track, “Left For Dead” which encapsulates the spirit of the NW blues with lyrics like “My body hit the mattress, but my soul hit the floor”. The first tune out the gate is Taft’s “Ain’t No Game” which had me heading for my leather pants, boots and ready for a ride and by the last tune, also a Taft original, “If You’ll Come Home” I had to wonder if I wasn’t listening to the next Billy Gibbons or Joe Bonamassa.

If you are new to the name Dudley Taft, he is no upstart to say the least, he’s been rocking crowds for years with regional superstars Spike and the Impalers and it’s going to take a tornado to knock this showman off his game. So if it’s a feast of thick and beefy guitar tones or a stratospheric riff rock, blue note rocket ride this collection of NW styled blues tunes is a must have for any serious rock blues music collection.

If you missed Recovery Comedy 2010 Saturday June 18 or 19, 2010 what a excellent weekend of Comedy was missed.

If you missed Recovery Comedy 2010 Saturday June 18 or 19, 2010 what a excellent weekend of Comedy you missed with comedians, Jesse Joyce, Kurtis Matthews, and Steve Johnson at the Caldwell Theatre Company in Boca Raton Florida.

Recovery Comedy 2010 was one laugh after another with comedians Jesse Joyce, Kurtis Matthews, and Steve Johnson. The house was rocking with laughter for the four shows that lasted one hour and forty five minutes each. The funny men talked about every thing from stinking like whiskey with stinky feet to midgets in gay bars. They kept rolling them out of their mouths one after the other. To see all us recovering addicts and alcoholics all under one roof with recovery time ranging a couple of days to one person with 30 plus years. This is living proof we are not a glum lot after we choose into recovery.

To see the smiles and laughter and happiness all around was the best part of the night. I want to thank David Kolker and Jorge Velez of DMKolker Consultants (which were the master minds behind this great event) for taking the risk and walking though the months of preparation. They did this so we could all enjoy a great couple of nights out with our family and friends. We are looking forward to more events with David and Jorge.

Oh yeah by the way David and Jorge asked John Hollis of WWNN 1470 AM Radio and the host of the Holistic Lifestyles Radio programs to open the Saturday 7PM & 9PM shows. This is what John had to say “sorry Jorge for not mentioning your name in the thank you and I forgot one announcement so I’ll do it now all VIP ticket holders go to VIP room when show is done I hope they’re still waiting there.

We need more activities like this in south Florida and around the country. Where we can show the new comer we can live in recovery one day at a time and have fun doing it. Next stop Chicago for the Crossroads Guitar Festival 2010. More will be revealed to us and to you.

Addiction relapse does not come on suddenly and without warning, it is a process over time.Call 888-223-2060

Challenges' program is specifically focused on relapse prevention. Challenges is the first facility in the country to receive special national certification as a Relapse Prevention "Center of Excellence" by the leading international expert in this field, Terence Gorski.

It is our belief, and the foundational component of our treatment program, that relapse prevention must provide and incorporate new strategies for the client, in the future, to be able to effectively deal with the entire potential multitude of symptoms, disorders, addictions and behaviors that in the past have combined to wreck havoc in the client's life.

Introduction to Relapse Prevention We define Relapse Prevention as a strategy to train alcohol and other drug abusers to cope more effectively and to overcome the stressors or triggers in their environments related to alcoholism and drug addiction that may cause relapse to build into chemical dependency. Drug addiction and alcoholism are diseases that, when left untreated or poorly treated, are typified by chronic relapse. The prevention of relapse is a critical part of any effective treatment for drug and alcohol abuse. Understanding Relapse In order to understand the fundamentals behind Relapse Prevention , one must first understand relapse itself. In the medical community, a relapse is a regression after a period of partial recovery from an illness.

In addiction treatment (or drug treatment) Relapse may easily be defined as returning to a specific behavior after a period of abstinence (stopping) from that particular behavior, that is, drug abuse. A relapse does not just happen by itself. There are outside influences and contributing factors, and one can find evidence and warning signs that an individual might be in danger of returning to the destructive patterns of substance abuse. There is one accepted fact about relapse:

Relapse does not come on suddenly and without warning, it is a process over time. Call 888-223-2060 www.challenges-program.com
