The Florida Addictions Institute is now online!


Beginning in January, 2010, the Florida Addictions Institute will offer real-time, online learning. Classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the instructor present. Students will have many opportunities to interact with the instructor and with each other.

The Florida Addictions Institute’s SAC 101: Substance Abuse: Causes and Treatment, begins January 5, 2010. Taught by A.W. “Chic” Bancroft, this class gives a comprehensive historical overview of substance abuse causes and treatments.

A computer with a sound card is required to take this class.

Enrollment for the January 5, 2010 class ends on December 23, 2009. This will allow all participants to be trained on the ILinc Learning System used by the Florida Addictions Institute for online classes.

The Florida Addictions Institute provides the classroom training required by the Florida Certification Board. Service hours are also needed. More information is available from the Florida Certification Board, www.flcertificationboard.org.
